Liverpool legend Ian Rush hopeful Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll will succeed next season – EPL News
Legendary Liverpool striker, Ian Rush, has backed Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll to form a formidable attacking partnership next season. The Welsh forward believes that the duo has the quality and attributes to shine for the Reds and bring success to Anfield
next season.
Kenny Dalglish sold Liverpool’s talismanic striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and spent over £50 million to land Suarez and Carroll from Ajax and Newcastle United respectively.
Due to Carroll’s injuries, the duo rarely played together in the recently concluded Barclays Premier League campaign. Rush now wants the attacking pair to form a strong partnership in the Reds’ attack and reckons that the duo have the quality to terrorize
any defence.
Rush believes that Carroll and Suarez’s partnership will bring fruitful results to Liverpool and is confident that the attacking pair would create a bond between very soon.
“I think if they can gel, which they should be able to, the partnership between Carroll and Suarez could be a really big thing,” the former Welsh striker stated.
Carroll was suffering from a knee injury when he completed his move from Newcastle United to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. Though the English striker did recover in the next few months, his return could not last long as he was sidelined for the rest of the season in March
2011. The 22-year-old has been working on his fitness during the off-season and Rush was satisfied with Carroll’s fitness during Liverpool’s Far East tour.
Suarez was on international duty with Uruguay during off-season and won the Copa America in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841. Better yet still, the 24-year-old won the Most Valuable Player award for some stunning performances.
Rush is relishing the prospect of the attacking pair training together ahead of the next Barclays Premier League and is hopeful that the duo will be able to build up a partnership.
“I've watched Andy getting his fitness up to standard on the club's Far East tour and when Suarez gets back from international duty and the two start training together, I'm sure they'll build up a partnership,” concluded the Legendary Welsh attacker.
Suarez was an immediate hit at Liverpool after completing his switch from Ajax. The Uruguayan striker earned laurels for his outstanding performances especially against Manchester United which Liverpool won by three goals.
Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll are likely to start together for Kenny Dalglish next season.
