Liverpool FC are unlikely to reclaim the services of Thomas Ince in January from Blackpool, some sources have learnt.
The English International has been in blistering form this season for the Seasiders, hitting the back of the net 13 times in 21 matches. Consequently, he caught the attention of Anfield chief, Brendan Rodgers, who is desperate to add to his attacking options
given the current frailty in his frontline.
The 20-year old was earlier sold by the Reds to Blackpool back in August last year for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of 250,000 pounds. The Championship outfit are willing to resell the striker to Liverpool but according to some reports, they
have put the player’s worth to be close to 5 million pounds.
If some rumours are to be believed, Rodgers is willing to pay as much as 4 million pounds for Ince, as he feels that the juvenile attacker can make a seamless transition to Anfield. The Blackpool boss, though, will not sell him for anything less than 5 million
pounds.
While talking to the reporters earlier in an interview, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 had met the club’s chairman to discuss the matter of the player’s transfer. However, he said that the chairman did not deem the Reds
offer as appropriate, without unravelling any figures.
“As far as I’m aware I think there’s been a conversation between Karl (Oyston) and Liverpool regarding an offer but, as far as I’m aware, it’s way below the type of money we’d expect for someone of Tom’s talent,” he said.
“Obviously the chairman keeps me informed but I think it was just an initial conversation between himself and Liverpool and there was a figure used but obviously it’s way below, like I say.”
Ince signed a two-year deal with the Seasiders, with the option of an additional one year. The talented forward is an important member of the Blackpool squad and the club won’t do away with him without having made a good profitable deal out of him.
The notion was confirmed by Appleton who said that it was highly likely that the attacker will serve out his stipulated deal at his current club. He also claimed that the player himself was in no hurry to call it quits to his Blackpool career.
“He’ll continue to play as long as we hold his registration… There’s still a lot of work that we feel has to be done before anything like that happens,” he added.
