Australian international and Liverpool goalkeeper, Brad Jones, has been loaned out to the Championship side Derby County for the remainder of the season. This is the second instance that Liverpool have loaned their player to the same Championship side after
the centre-back, Daniel Ayala was loaned earlier in 2011.
The move took place after Derby County’s goalkeeper, Matt Duke, returned to his parent club, Hull City. Hull also plays in the Championship and are currently tenth in the table with fifty-six points.
Derby manager, Nigel Clough has claimed that Jones will be the first priority at the club and his Premier League experience would help his side avoid the relegation zone. He further added that, "Brad fits the bill perfectly, he has Premier League experience,
Football League experience and most importantly big game experience. We have some big games coming up between now and May and he will be our number one in them.”
Clough mentioned that, Brad hasn’t had enough first team football under his belt and the 29-year-old would be itching to get the desired amount of football rather than watching it from the side lines. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672, so far is The Kops obvious
choice in the goal. Derby County also have the services of Republic of Ireland’s man Saul Deeney and the Englishmen, Ross Atkins and James Severn.
The manager was all praise for Kenny Dalglish and his officials. He said that Liverpool have been very supportive and they have helped his side out by handing over Jones until the end of the current 2010-11 season. He commented that, "Liverpool have done
us a big favour and I would like to thank Kenny Dalglish and the other officials at Anfield for agreeing to loan another of their players to Derby County."
Derby County are currently seventeenth in the Championship with forty-four points and have eight games remaining in the season. Brad Jones will be making his debut for the club when The Rams travel away to take on Cardiff City on Saturday, 2 April at the
Cardiff City Stadium.
