Liverpool looking to land Adam in the summers
Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to land Blackpool’s influential midfielder, Charlie Adam. This is because it now appears that the player will be allowed to leave the club in the summer, and as things stand, Liverpool are the prime candidates to
land the midfielder.
Adam has made no secret of the fact that he would someday like to play at Anfield, and if things go according to plan the 25-year-old could join the Reds.
The midfielder had been a target for the Reds in January however, due to the loss of some paper work and complications in finalising a deal on deadline day; Adam was forced to stay at Bloomfield Road for at least another six months.
It was previously reported that Blackpool Manager Ian Holloway did not want his star player to join the Reds. This was because the manager felt that the Reds were not the best option for the player, as he deserved much better.
However, since the arrival of Kenny Dalglish at Anfield, things seem to have taken a turn for the best. The team has moved out of the relegation zone and is now sitting in sixth spot in the league. As a result, Holloway has finally come to terms with the
fact that if his star player does move to Liverpool, it wouldn’t be all that bad.
Charlie Adam is currently being valued at around 10 million pounds however; it wouldn’t be surprising to watch him part ways with the team for much more than that. It was reported that the player was also being pursued by Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day
and the North London team were willing to fork out as much as 14 million pounds for his services.
Adam could prove to be just the ingredient that Liverpool need. The team is in desperate of someone who can replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 once he ends his career; and Adam could well be that person.
At the moment the only obstacle that stands in Liverpool’s path to landing the player is the competition that they might face from other top teams in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Manchester United were also rumoured to be looking to make a bid for Adam. Alex Ferguson previously
went on to state at one point that Adam’s corner kicks alone were worth around 10 million pounds.
If we take those comments into consideration, then United could be a potenital destination for Adam. However, with the Red Devils now looking to land a goal-keeper as their priority signing, it seems like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 might not have too much trouble landing
the players signature.
