Liverpool looking to land Andy Carroll
Roy Hodgson is rumoured to be on the verge of contemplating a rather shocking, yet ambitious swoop for Newcastle's stand out striker, Andy Carroll. This news has come into existence after it was revealed that a number of players at St. James Park were left
disappointed after the team's manager, Chris Hughton got sacked and as a result a number of the players are now reconsidering their future at the club.
With the rumour that there might soon be a revolt in the dressing room at Newcastle, Roy Hodgson is looking to sneak in on the opportunity and benefit from it, by bettering Liverpool’s attacking options amidst all this chaos at the club. The twenty one year
old only recently signed a five year deal with Newcastle, but is said to be rather infuriated by Mike Ashley's decision and is looking to move out of the club as a sign of respect to his former manager.
Liverpool have been on the brink, due to the lack of striking options at the club this season. Apart from the game on Monday night, when they managed to score three goals against Aston Villa without Fernado Torres, the team has looked rather bleak in the
absence of the World Cup winner and as a result, the striker has often been forced to play up front alone. This has only lead to Torres picking up an injury here and there, which has ended up affecting Liverpool’s season in a rather dramatic fashion.
On the other hand, Carroll has had plenty of help upfront at Newcastle, but has still managed to outshine most of the team that he plays with. He has so far managed to score nine goals this term, which is a rather impressive record for any player.
That being said, Carroll is currently being valued at around fifteen million pounds, by the experts and that just so happens to be a fee that is in Liverpool’s price range. However, fifteen million might also appear to be a bargain, if what is at stake is
Liverpool’s chance of qualification for the Champions League once again.
