http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 looking to land Charlie Adams following comments about playing in the Premier League
Liverpool are currently more than confident of the fact that they are going to land Blackpool’s midfielder, Charlie Adam at the end of the season. The midfielder has gone on to openly admit that he wishes to pursue his future in the Premier League and considering
Blackpool suffered a drop, by finishing in the bottom three spots in the Premier League, he won’t be able to do that with the Tangerines.
Adam is quoted to have said: "But I've now had a taste of the Premiership and I want to continue in that league. It's the best to play in.
"If I do get a transfer in the summer then I will try to keep up the standard I showed last season and improve on that.
"I hope a Premiership club comes in for me and they agree a fee with Blackpool.”
Liverpool tried to make a move for the player in the January transfer window, however they were not the only team looking to snap up Adam in the dying minutes of the transfer window, as Tottenham looked to pursue his capture as well. Adam had even come forth
and put in a formal transfer request at the club, in order to secure his move away from the team. Nonetheless in the end, time fell short on the move and as a result Adam was forced to stay back at Blackpool for the rest of the season. It was later reported
that the actual reason for the deal not going through, was down to the fact that two of the major shareholders of the club, went missing in action on the deadline day and without their permission Adam could not be sold to another club. If that is true, then
that is a rather unfortunate turn of events for the prolific midfielder, who could have played out the rest of the season at a club that truly fits to his caliber.
In order for Liverpool, or Tottenham to land the player, they are going to have to part ways with around ten to fourteen million pounds. Fourteen million shouldn’t be a big sum of money for Liverpool to stump out for the player, considering the fact that
they just inherited fifty million pounds for the sale of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707. On the other hand, Tottenham are looking to undergo a massive overhaul at the club, meaning they are also going to have ample funds available to land the midfielder, should it come down
to paying top dollar to land the Scotsman.
