Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, has paid tribute to young midfielder, Jay Spearing for filling the void created by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196’s injury.
Gerrard has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing a groin operation recently. Spearing has stepped up to take his place and the academy graduate has made four consecutive league starts for the Reds.
The 22-year-old has already made two man of the match performances against Sunderland and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-Maseru-c38430 in his short career with Liverpool. Dalglish is impressed with the youngster and has a lot of faith in him. The football pundits have tipped the midfielder
as an ideal replacement for club captain, Gerrard.
Dalglish believes that a player of Gerrard’s calibre is hard to replace but Spearing has settled really well to take his place.
Talking to the reporters Dalglish said, "Any team in the world would be a better team with Steven Gerrard playing in midfield and we're no different. You feel for players when they're injured but when they are injured someone else steps up to the plate.
It's to their credit that they've all stepped up to the plate; not just Jay, all of them."
"He's always been a good passer but maybe now he's got a bit more confidence and belief in himself and he's encouraged more to do it. The games he's had and the performances he's put in will give him confidence," added the Liverpool manager.
The former Blackburn Rovers manager is not afraid to give youngsters a run in the first team and has made it clear that youth will be one of his main priorities at the club.
