Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish delighted with revival of the Reds – EPL news
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is delighted with the way his team has managed to bounce back and end the 2010-11 season on a high in 6th place in the English Premier League.
Kenny said that his team has surpassed expectations of everyone and the way they played in the second half of the season is commendable.
Dalglish went on to say that despite the revival in the second half of the season, his team must continue to work hard and maintain the right attitude.
When he took over the managerial position after the sacking of Roy Hodgson, the club was lingering in the relegation zone. The first few games did not go his way but gradually he has managed to turn it around for the club and now the Reds have a realistic
chance of making it to the Europa League on the final day of the season.
The defeat at the hands of Tottenham at home was the first home defeat since Dalglish took over. Kenny’s team may not have the fate of European ambitions in their own hands, but still King Kenny is extremely proud of his team.
“They have played brilliantly since January, gone about their work and surpassed all expectations,” said the 60-year-old. “We are dependent on other people now (to finish fifth) when we could have finished it but it has been a fantastic effort to get close.
We can only look after ourselves.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur was in contrast to the way they have performed since the turn of 2011. That was a reminder for Kenny that if the team loses focus at any moment, they are vulnerable to losing games.
Liverpool have gone through a number of significant changes in the current season. When the season began, they had different owners, a different manager and a different number one striker. All that changed for better looking at the big picture now.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-c35214 Hicks and George Gillette- the two American owners of Liverpool did not have the fans or the team’s backing and it eventually took an ugly court battle to force them out.
Liverpool were bought by another American group called Fenway Sports and the first major thing they did was to sack Roy Hodgson and sold off http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707. Both turned out to be great decisions as in the price of Torres, they got Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.
Suarez has already proven that he is one of a kind while Andy Carroll offers plenty of promise. Kenny Dalglish has breathed a new life into the club and the Liverpool faithful can barely wait for the next season to start as they firmly believe that they
can mount a big challenge for the League title next term.
