Dalglish believes that former Reds’ manager, Roy Hodgson, will be received warmly by fans on his return to Anfield following his departure last season.
When Fenway Sports Group took over the Anfield outfit they appointed Roy Hodgson as the man to manage the club after the Englishman had a rather successful season with Fulham. However, things did not go well with Hodgson as the club struggled both in the Barclays Premier League as well as in cup competitions.
The owners decided to take action and replaced Hodgson with Kop legend, Kenny Dalglish, as the caretaker manager. The feel good factor returned to the Merseyside club and it was not long before Mark Henry, the club’s owner, decided to offer Dalglish the managerial http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 on a permanent basis.
Dalglish did not hesitate and the rest is history, however many fans and pundits still believe that Hodgson should have been given more time, while others will argue that the manager was never able to rally the fans or the players to his side.
Despite all of that Dalglish believes that when Hodgson returns to Anfield the fans would be make him feel welcome.
The Liverpool manager stated, “It will be good to see Roy (Hodgson). To him back at Anfield – obviously we’ve played them down there already – will be good and I’m sure he’ll a warm reception from the supporters.”
While Hodgson may not have enjoyed a great deal of success at Liverpool, Dalglish hopes that the former Reds’ manager’s other traits would endear him to the Anfield crowd.
“He’s a man with real integrity and dignity and he tried his best for this football club. I’m sure the supporters will respect that.”
