Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish praises players for season turn-around
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager, Kenny Dalglish has gone on to praise his players for the dramatic turn-around that the club has had this season.
Prior to Dalglish coming into the club, the team was something of a sinking ship and under the management of Roy Hodgson, they were considered to be relegation contenders at one point in the season.
However, since Dalglish’s appointment as manager of the club in January - after the sacking of Hodgson - the team has been consistently improving and is now sitting in the sixth spot in the league.
At the moment, Dalglish seems to have focused all his attention to getting the team qualified for a European spot and the way things are going, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Reds play in Europe next season. However, instead of taking any credit for
the hard work that he has put into the side, Dalglish is instead opting to place the success on the shoulders of the players.
Dalglish is reported to have said, “But credit to the players because there have only been two transfers out and two in, and the lads that have got us to where we are deserve great credit for it. I don’t think they could have done much more. I think they’ve
done more than they possibly could.”
However, the manager then went on to turn his attention to the upcoming fixtures and stated that the team would give it their all and hope for the best.
The manager went on to add, “We’ve won some games maybe people thought we couldn’t win and we’ve lost other games we thought we should win. If we were to finish sixth it would be an achievement for the players that they have got that far in such a short
space of time but we just need to keep going and see what happens.”
It would be harsh not to give credit to Dalglish for the dramatic turnaround at the club. Dalglish, ever since his appointment as manager of the team, has managed to get the players motivated and has helped them to dig deep and produce a little something
extra for the club. One of the prime examples of this can be found in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678, who went from being a good player in the squad, to being one of the best midfielders in the league, under the management of Dalglish.
The manager also made some brilliant transfers, as he got rid of a underperforming, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 and brought in Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez. These transfers seem to go hand in hand, with the overall impact that the manager has had at the club.
The way the team is going, it would be impossible not to assume that they would finish in a European spot at the end of the season.
