Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson increasingly frustrated with Liverpool’s performances
Despite Liverpool’s poor displays of late, boss Roy Hodgson still feels that his side will improve considerably over the next few weeks.
In a very recent interview, the sixty three year old Liverpool boss admitted the fact that his team is currently very poor. Hodgson is still busy experimenting with his squad and is reluctant in accepting the fact that his
team is not giving its best yet.
In a recent match against Blackpool, the Reds suffered a 2-1 loss. Now the Reds are in the relegation zone. When Hodgson was asked about the disappointing performances of the team, the coach said that the team is going through
some serious issues and it is lacking the right winning chemistry.
According to Roy Hodgson, the team needs to improve at every aspect of the game and give its best in every match to acquire better results and points in the future.
The match against Blackpool was a serious battle for the Reds as Blackpool gave a very strong challenge. The two goals from Charlie Adam and Luke Varney proved to be a bit too much for the Reds. In the second half of the
match, Liverpool seemed to up their game but despite Sotirios Kyrgiakos’s goal, the team’s efforts were in vain.
Roy Hodgson expressed himself after the match and said that in the first half Liverpool displayed a very poor game and that is why they were penalised by the stronger Blackpool team. He added by saying that the defending
was very ordinary by the Reds and that is why the two goals conceded by the team were on counter attacks. Talking about the second half of the game, he said that in the second half of the game Liverpool tried their best and at least showed some desire to get
back into the game.
The recent defeat by Blackpool at Anfield was an incredibly disappointing one, especially since fortress Anfield has started to resemble a candy shop instead of a ground where visiting teams rarely managed to get any points.
Hodgson continued to claim that despite being a horrible dip in form, this is just that – a dip in form. He stated that Liverpool will come back stronger than ever very soon, once players get used to his form of management and his tactics.
This has been Liverpool’s worst start to the season for quite a while, and many fans feel that the team either lacks the personnel or the management to get them back to where the club rightly belongs – challenging for the
league and being part of the Champions League. According to the Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt, the team has all the required passion and potential to perform better. The striker is keen to say that it is just the start of the new season and things will get better
in near future. He added by saying that there are thirty four more matches to play and that Liverpool have to make sure to give their full to clutch every possible moment of success. Later the striker added that the current situation is very frustrating for
the team but that they have to aim high and hope for the best.
