Jonjo Shelvey was signed from Charlton Athletic for a fee of 1.7 million Pounds last summer. The youngster has since made 19 first-team appearances for Liverpool and has grown as a player under Dalglish.
Shelvey insisted that nobody would have expected that Liverpool would be challenging for the UEFA Europa League when Kenny Dalglish took over in January. He stated that the Reds had struggled throughout the first-half of the season but Dalglish turned things
around. He stated that the manager is heavily responsible for the club’s resurgence this year.
“In January, when the boss took over, you would not have expected us to be fifth come the end of the season. I just think Kenny has got everyone going and you can tell around the place there is a massive team spirit and it is showing in our performances,”
the youngster was quoted as saying in an interview.
