Lucas has publically thanked the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 faithful for their continuous support for him as he recovers from a serious injury and hopes to be back on the pitch soon.
One player who found it difficult to endear himself to the Anfield faithful was Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva. Coming in at a young age he managed to become the most hated player on the pitch, with fans often calling out for him to be transferred out
to another team.
The reason was not for his lack of effort, as he usually ran his socks off, but because he was an ineffective, flat player to added nothing to the side.
However, he has managed to turn the crowd in his favour as his effort has been repaid with some fine performances in a Liverpool shirt and although he is not as effective going forward, his ability to win the ball back when his side have lost it have made
him a fan favourite.
Almost a testament to his transformation, the Liverpool fans have been supporting him throughout his injury and the midfielder took some time out thank all of them in a recent interview.
“As I said when I got injured, I want to say thanks to the fans for all the positive messages they have been sending to me. They are definitely helping me a lot to keep strong and do well.”
He continued by explaining how the support really helped him through a trying part of his career. “I was really frustrated because it was my first injury since I arrived at Liverpool and a serious one, so I was really down especially after the operation.”
Now however, it seems that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 has put all of that behind him and is focusing on getting back on the pitch as soon as possible.
“Hopefully I will be back soon and wearing the red shirt again will be a good thing to achieve.”
The midfielder will be pleased by his side’s recent run which has seen them knock the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United out of the Carling Cup and FA Cup respectively, and one can expect his return to further strengthen the squad, though that
may be later rather than sooner.
