http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 news: Ryan Babel's tweet lands him in rough waters
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 has created quite a stir this weekend after being infuriated by the actions of World Cup final referee Howard Webb. His comments on Twitter regarding two dubious decisions given by Webb in Sunday’s FA cup third round tie at Old Trafford against
Manchester United have landed him in rough waters.
Howard Webb awarded a controversial first minute penalty to United when Daniel Agger's minimal challenge on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282,
with replays showing it was not as bad as first thought.
He posted a picture on Howard Webb on Twitter site with Webb in a Manchester United T-shirt at his account, @ryanbabbel. Webb is known to be modest in the footballing circle.
Babel was virtually anonymous throughout the game and only a vigilant would have observed him in the game as Liverpool stumbled to a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford in a lacklustre FA Cup tie. However, his tweet grabbed more attention than his performance and
although the tweet was posted for hardly a couple of minutes, the Football Association has taken exception to it and is set to launch an investigation into the Dutchman's twitter comments.
Babel posted the picture and complained: "And they call him one of the best referees. That's a joke."
After realizing his mistake he soon removed his post. He said soon afterwards: "My apology if they take my posted picture seriously. This is just an emotional reaction after losing an important game. Sorry Howard Webb."
Caretaker of Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish, after the penalty decision said it was "a joke,” lamenting his captain's red card.
He added, "The two decisions are important factors in the game, but if you went into detail about them, it would take away from the commitment of the players.
"It's difficult to come here, they are top of the league and when you are down to 10 men and lose a goal in the first minute you need to show commitment, and the players did that and they had great support here today as well,” the caretaker bemoaned.
