Liverpool overwhelmed as Fernando Torres seems to be fit for derby
Fernando Torres, the Spanish World Cup winner managed to pick up an injury to his adductor. The player picked up a strain to his adductor eariler this month, when Liverpool faced Blackpool at home prior to the international break.
Due to this the player was rumoured to be incapable of being fit to face Everton this coming weekend. However Torres has gone against his principles of being injured for large portions of the season and is now reported to be fit to play in the game.
Along with Torres, Liverpool's left back, Paul Konchesky, who came in from Fulham near the end of the transfer window has also been declared fit to participate in the match. The defender picked up a hamstring strain near the end
of last month when Liverpool faced Sunderland, but seems to finally be match fit again.
Amidst all this good news however, there seems to be some bad news for the Liverpool fans; Dirk Kuyt, the Dutch international, will still be out for at least another month due to an ankle injury that he picked up during the international
break and is hence not going to be making it into the weekend’s game.
The Liverpool manager, Roy Hodgson was reported to have said: "Konchesky has made a good recovery as has Fernando Torres so all being well we can welcome those two back"
"Fernando's season needs to kick-start, he's been hampered a bit by injuries and what happened at the World Cup”
With Liverpool currently facing their fair share of problems, it will be a blessing for them to beat their local rivals. However with both the teams currently in the relegation zone, it is quite unclear as to what might happen
in the game, but with Torres back in the side, it is safe to say that Liverpool's chances of winning the game have been given a dramatic boost in the right direction. However it is still too early to say what just might happen in the game, which is why everyone
will just have to wait and see what happens in the game.
