Liverpool prepare themselves for mouth watering offer
Manchester City who are well aware of the fact that Liverpool are in desperate need of some money, are looking to offer the club as much as seventy million pounds, for the Anfield based team's Spanish striking sensation Fernando
Torres. Roberto Mancini who is in charge of the team at the Eastlands, has made no efforts in keeping his desires a secret, when it has come to the twenty six year old forward. With Liverpool currently dangling over the possibility of hitting administration,
the Manchester based team has been given the green light in making a super offer for the player and with the surplus funds at the club, the team is sure to be the favourite to land the player, if he does decide to walk out of Liverpool, in the next transfer
window.
Roy Hodgson on the other hand, will be fighting with all his guns blazing to try and retain the services of the player. The manager is well aware of the quality that the Spanish forward possesses and will be hoping to hold on to
him for long enough to try and bring the currently sinking ship of Liverpool back afloat again. The manager will also be hoping that the new investors that come into the club, have the designated funds, to help his vision become a reality.
However Mancini being the cunning man that he is, has decided to swing the deal with one more twist. The manager is looking to include, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz, two of the star strikers at the team, who are finding
it hard to make a jump to the first team as part of the deal.
On paper, the deal looks rather amazing with seventy million pounds plus two quality strikers being offered for one player. However what is happening here is another case of, looks good on paper but just doesn't feel right. Despite
the deal being as tempting as it is, Liverpool will probably not want to get rid of Torres, not only can he bring that extra 'X' factor to any game at any time that he wants, he also brings a sense of recognition to the team, that is something that no amount
of money can ever hope to buy, which is exactly why Liverpool as a team will be forced to make one of the toughest choices of their existence once the next transfer window opens in January.
