Liverpool reject Chelsea bid for Fernando Torres
According to latest reports, Liverpool have rejected Chelsea’s £35 million bid for their star attacker Fernando Torres.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, who were reportedly linked with a move for Fernando Torres in the last transfer window, are once again told by the Merseyside club that the Spanish striker is not for sale under any condition.
A Liverpool spokesman told, “Chelsea have made a bid for Fernando which has been turned down. The player is not for sale.”
Previously, it has also been reported that the Blues’ boss Roman Abramovich is an admirer of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 and has tried to sign the Spaniard many times in the past.
Chelsea have been unsuccessful in landing Fernando Torres so far and Liverpool are keen to have the 26-year-old striker at their helm for the next few seasons.
After http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 finished seventh in the Barclays Premier League in the 2009-10 season, speculations about Torres’ future began to grow. However, the 26-year-old striker claimed that he is totally committed to Liverpool when he returned to the Merseyside
club after winning the World Cup at the start of 2010-11 season.
However, Liverpool’s poor start of the season did speed up rumours linking Fernando Torres to various big guns of Europe. Moreover, it was reported that in order to retain Fernando Torres, Liverpool had inserted a £50 million buy-out clause in the Spaniard’s
contract- which only worsened Torres’ condition at Anfield.
But since the arrival of Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool, it appears as if Torres has reignited his goalscoring form. The Spanish striker has scored three times in last four matches- which could have been four in four but Torres’ goal against Fulham was wrongly
ruled out for offside.
Fernando Torres joined Liverpool for £20 million in the summer of 2007. Since then, the Spanish striker has featured 141 times for the Reds and has scored 81 goals.
