Liverpool skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 expects new players to arrive at Anfield this summer – EPL news
Liverpool skipper, Steven Gerrard, has revealed that he expects many fresh arrivals at Anfield this summer transfer window, but insisted he would be more than happy if club can only bring quality players into the camp. Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish,
has already stated that the club intends to spend big in the summer. With the 2010/11 season having ended with Liverpool finishing outside of the European football places, the club intends to bring in quality players to end the disappointment of recent seasons.
Liverpool started their season miserably under Coach Roy Hodgson, and struggled to find a spot in the top half of English Premier League. Hodgson was duly shown the door and Dalglish was drafted in. The Reds even spent some time in the dreaded relegation
zone but a remarkable turnaround under the inspirational Dalglish saw the club finish the season in sixth place. The 60-year-old took permanent charge at Anfield on May 12, 2011, after signing a three-year contract with Liverpool.
Veteran midfielder and club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314, Steven Gerrard, believes that the stage is set for Liverpool to bring two or three top class players in the transfer window so that Reds can emerge as a greater threat in the upcoming season.
Expressing his views to ‘The Mirror’ regarding summer signings, he said “It makes me feel very enthusiastic about next season. If we can maintain the form we've had recently, get our injured players back fit and playing, and bring a few top quality signings
through the door, you never know what might happen. But, with top quality signings, who knows what we can do.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 could have done better this season had Gerrard had not missed a major part of the season with niggling injuries. Liverpool can expect to start the next season in a grand fashion with Gerrard getting fully fit, and many new players expected to give
a major lift to Kenny Dalglish’s men. Dalglish seems to have his eyes set on Aston Villa’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 and Blackpool’s Charlie Adam. The manager is expected to table a bid for the duo in the near future.
Gerrard, while asking Liverpool not to get complacent with their recent good form, said:
“With the belief we have running through the squad, and with the outstanding players we already have, we know we can approach every game with a great chance of coming out on top. We can't believe we are suddenly fantastic, because even though we have improved.”
Not even the most optimistic of Liverpool fans had expected such a dramatic turnaround, especially after the sale of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. However, after an inspired January transfer window and a managerial change later, the club is gunning to challenge
Manchester United for English Premier League supremacy.
