The Reds right back Jon Flanagan has revealed that it would be dream for him if Liverpool were to reach Wembley twice in both the FA and the Carling Cup.
The red half of Merseyside is abuzz with excitement as Liverpool have their FA Cup match against Oldham Athletic this Friday. Liverpool also have a double header against Barclays Premier League high fliers, Manchester City in the two legs of the Carling Cup semi-finals.
One Liverpool starlet is already dreaming of seeing his side make it to Wembley twice this season for two different tournaments.
Jon Flanagan may find himself lower down on the pecking order when it comes to playing right back for the club, with the likes of Glen Johnson and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Kelly-c24395 ahead of him, but he has impressed whenever he is given the chance by the manager.
It will not be the first time the young defender has visited the ground, but it will be the first time he will step out on to the pitch wearing the famous Liverpool shirt, that is, if he makes the starting line-up.
“I’ve been there twice. The first time was to watch my uncle Bradley (Orr) for Bristol http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 a few weeks ago.”
Speaking about the ground itself the Academy graduate stated, “It’s a great ground, massive. Both times I’ve been the atmosphere was really good.”
The reserve player is currently http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050’s understudy, though that has not stopped him from dreaming about making more than appearance on the hallowed turf.
“It would be great to get there this season in the Carling Cup or the FA Cup, or both. That would be a dream come true.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 take on Manchester City in the Carling Cup, but their FA Cup match against Oldham Athletic is the more immediate issue for the club. The Reds will be looking to make amends after being humbled by the cash rich Manchester club at the Etihad Stadium where they were beaten three goals to nil.
