As the winter transfer deadline gets closer and heads into its most exciting climax in years, Liverpool look forward to some desperate reinforcements after the horrible first half of the season.
One name being mentioned most frequently is of Ajax and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035 international, Luis Suarez.
We hereby take a look as to why the current employer’s would love to make the Uruguayan their marquee signing and show their intent, in spite of the criticism that most people consider about players coming from lesser leagues to the Premier League not materializing
into success stories.
Every Liverpool fan is already aware by now as to how John Henry took the Red Sox back to their glory days. The method that the Red Sox used under John W Henry was to recruit players often referred to as money ball, taking inspiration from the way the legendary Billy
Beane of Oakland A’s built his empire. He based his baseball team purely on the stats of players from a cheap market to achieve phenomenal success.
But, this is football and the English Premier League to be precise. It is not easy for a random player to adjust quickly and adapt to the physical nature of the game.
Luis Suarez started his playing career at his native club Nacional, where he blossomed into a deadly striker scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances. It didn’t take long for the European club to spot his talent and then as is the case often, Nacional had to sell
him to book profits early.
He moved to Europe at a tender age of 18 and joined Dutch side Groningen. After a brief but impressive spell there he moved to Ajax, where he currently plies his trade. He is a huge phenomenon in Uruguay after guiding his team to the last four of the FIFIA
2010 World Cup and scoring four goals in the competition.
The Ajax ace had an excellent goal scoring ratio at both Nacional and Groningen with one goal in every three appearances. His goal scoring attributes got even better in the company of better players at Ajax, where his ratio soared as he netted 81 times in
108 appearances for the Amsterdam based club.
In addition, Suarez was also the top scorer in Europe last season scoring a record 49 goals in all competitions for Ajax.
He came in for heavy criticism for his deliberate handball against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 last year. He was shown a red card for his endeavour and missed the semi-final against Holland.
As a Liverpool fan there is always a reason to be optimistic if Liverpool’s interest in Suarez matures and they cuff up the reported ₤18 million being demanded for his services by Ajax.
They will have a more than capable partner to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 to fire them back into the top four of the Premier League.  At least going by all the statistics that John W Henry and Co. used during their spell at the Boston Red Sox, there is almost no one
as good as Suarez on whom they must choose to spend.
