Liverpool to offer Kenny Dalglish a two-year contract extension: Reports
English Premier League side Liverpool are believed to offer a two-year contract extension to their current inspirational manager Kenny Dalglish who took over from former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson in January 2011.
Hodgson failed to inject any sort of confidence in the Reds rank and was relieved of his duties following an unimpressive run during the course of his reign.
The 18-time Premier League holders started the 2010-11 season in the worst possible manner and at one stage were reeling around the relegation zone. The officials and the fans soon found the appointment of Hodgson as a hasty decision but decided to stick
with the former Fulham boss.
However, Hodgson was not able to turn the tide and lost confidence with the club officials that resulted in his sacking. Since taking over, Dalglish has led the Reds to four wins from eight games.
This inspirational Scot has influenced a massive turnaround in Liverpool fortunes and the Reds find themselves 6th on the Premier League table now. They have also managed to reach the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League after defeating Sparta Praha.
The 59-year-old Scot has literally infused a new wave of confidence in the Reds line-up and now they seem to be a different side then they were at the start of the season. This has also influenced the club officials to retain the prolific figure at Anfield
for another two years in an attempt to win the long awaited Premier League title.
The fans at Anfield have also shown confidence in the Scot and are already demanding an extension in Dalglish’s rule. The players also seem united under his influence and are hoping that the 59-year-old could stay at the club for a longer period and not
just until the end of the season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 will take on the leaders Manchester United in an all-important Premier League clash on 6 March, 2011 and it is believed that Dalglish will sign the contract extension before that game.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will travel away to Upton Park to take on relegation battling West Ham United on Sunday in an attempt to close the gap on the 5th placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
Currently, the Reds are eight points behind the 4th placed Tottenham Hotspur and will look to win each of their remaining games to finish in the top 4. If they manage to do so, it will be quite a remarkable achievement and will justify Dalglish’s
role with the club.
