Liverpool to swoop for Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez
The reports emitting from Anfield suggest that Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is looking to add more fire power up front and is targeting another striker, rumoured to be Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez. Liverpool boss has reportedly
asked about the availability of the German international.
Liverpool did attempt to lure the Bayern star in the January transfer window after Fernando Torres' exit from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, but their initial enquiry was rebuffed. Dalglish then switched
his attention towards Ajax’s Luis Suarez and Newcastle United’s Andy Carrolland signed them for a combined fee in excess of ₤50 million.
Liverpool have a wealth of striking options available with couple of young strikers coming through the ranks as well. Yet, Dalglish is eyeing another striker despite bringing in two quality forwards in January. According to the
report, the Liverpool manager has not given up hope of getting his man Gomez. Dalglish has already set the ball rolling, having made contact with Bayern Munich regarding a possible transfer.
The 25-year-old striker is German Bundesliga's leading marksman, having netted 24 goals during the current campaign making him an attractive buy.
Bayern Munich is in transition having sacked manager Louis Van Gaal and appointed Jupp Heynckes as new manager effective from July 1. The new manger has already drawn up a list of potential targets and has set sights on Manchester
City pair of Jerome Boateng and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526. Boateng signed with City last season from German club Hamburg but has failed to hold a regular berth in the starting eleven and Adebayor's future is uncertain as the player is on-loan at Real Madrid till the
end of the season.
Heynckes, along with Director of Football Christian Nerlinger, are looking to overhaul the squad. There will be a lot of activity at the Allianz Arena with a mass exodus expected. On the other hand, a lot of new faces are likely
to join. However, it is pre-mature to draw up conclusions as to who will be leaving at the end of the season.
