Liverpool transfer targets: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148, Luis Suarez, Jerome Thomas
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 don't find themselves alone in the market for the Bayern Munich's mid-fielder Mark van Bommel. Joining them in the pursuit for the Dutch International are Tottenham Hotspur. The two managers, Harry Redknapp and Kenny Dalglish are prepared to go
head to head to bring Van Bommel to their respective sides in the Premier League. So far, Tottenham and Liverpool are the two main contenders for the defensive midfielder, who would be a valuable addition to either side.
The 33 year old has made 12 appearances for Bayern Munich this season, out of their 18 fixtures in the domestic league. The summer arrival at White Hart Lane, Rafael van der Vaart, is reportedly urging Redknapp to bring his fellow countryman to the London
side. Van der Vaart said while speaking to reporters, “He is a super player with lots of experience, who would help any team. Tottenham want to take the next step to get to the same level as our local rivals Arsenal. I think that is possible. Therefore we
can use good players.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool are determined they can land Luis Suarez, the Ajax Amsterdam striker, after he was stripped off the captaincy at the club. The transfer of the captain’s armband from Luis Suarez to goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maarten-Stekelenburg-c22998 signals the possible
end of Suarez’s career with the Amsterdam outfit.
Suarez scored 41 goals and provided 17 assists last season and seems to be continuing with his goal scoring form, having scored 11 goals and seting up about nine assists so far this season. He is contracted to the club until the end of the 2013 season; however
for a fee of about £28-15 million, the striker could be on his way out during the January transfer window.
Reports reveal that Liverpool’s representatives have contacted Ajax concerning the future of the Uruguayan international. Talks are set to be held again after the initial transfer meeting which was held after Liverpool drew 2-2 with local rivals Everton.
Freank De Boer, the new Ajax manager, said the striker was most likely on his way out. He said while speaking to reporters, “I've had a showdown with Luis. I wanted to know what his plans are and what the future will bring. Luis is training hard. He told
me that if a big club comes in for him now he is ready to talk to them. I've a back-up scenario ready.”
Moreover, Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is reportedly keeping an eye on Jerome Thomas, the West Bromwich Albion winger, who is valued at an estimated £5 million. The 27 year old creative winger is contracted to West Brom until the end of the 2012 season
and has an exceptionally impressive start to this Premier League season. This has convinced Dalglish that he needs to bring the former Charlton player to Anfield during the January transfer window.
