Liverpool versus Manchester City – Premier League Picks – Gameweek 13 – 1st Half
It is almost time for another weekend of Barclays Premier League action and the match which everyone will be looking forward to on Gameweek 13 has to be the clash between the history rich Liverpool and the ludicrously rich Manchester City.
It would be suitable to kick things off with the Home side, Liverpool who are still unbeaten at Anfield. While their absence of defeats at Anfield may seem commendable there is more than meets the eye.
In fact, Liverpool have only won two of their six matches in front of the Kop, having drawn the remaining four. This means that out of the 18 points Liverpool could have collected at home, their tally is only 10.

With the basics down, it is now time to delve deeper into which players managers should be looking to snap up or transfer into their squads ahead of the Super Sunday against Manchester City.
Goal Keeper -Jose Reina – Not this time
The Liverpool goal keeper used to be one of the most consistent point scorers in the Fantasy Premier League in seasons gone by, yet this season seems to be tough going for the Reds keeper as he only has 47 points to his name.
He did show some form against West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City where he earned 6 and 7 points respectively, but against Chelsea it was right back down to the 2 point standard.
With the likes of David Silva and Sergio Aguero set to be breathing down his neck on the weekend, it would be wiser if one was to choose a keeper from another team who are facing less threatening opponents.
Defenders: Glenn Johnson or Jose Enrique?
As always we here at Bettor.com always advise against going for centre backs as more often than not they do not have much chance of earning points if their side’s concede. True, there are centre backs who score a high number of points yet they are a rarity and often cost a small transfer budget fortune that could be spent somewhere else.
Glenn Johnson put in a match winning performance against Chelsea and if he stays fit, then the England international is more than capable of producing the same kind of performances on a regular basis.
On the other hand Jose Enrique has been pretty consistent in recent weeks and is the more settled of the two. His attacking runs usually end up resulting in a goal scoring opportunity one way or the other and he costs considerably less than the Johnson as well.
In the end, it is up to the manager which player he wants to put in his side based on his transfer budget and his own gut instinct. We will be going for Enrique as Micah Richards tends to get forward on a regular basis and that is something that the Liverpool left-back can look to take advantage of.
