Liverpool vs. Fulham team ratings
Liverpool
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 (7.0)
The Spanish shot stopper, wasn’t really tested till late into the second half and when he was, he went on to make fine saves to deny the likes of Hughes and Dembele from getting the visitors back in the game. As a result of his crucial touches on the ball
in the last ten minutes, Liverpool held on to win all three points in the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Kelly-c24395 (7.0)
Showed ample maturity as a player in the game and managed to get forward quite often. However, the only thing that was lacking from his game was the ability to make consistent passes.
Martin Skrtel (7.0)
Skrtel finally showed everyone what he was capable of when he went from being a sloppy defender, to one, who was sharp, and almost always on the mark. This improvement in form could be thanks to Kenny Dalglish, but it would be harsh to take anything away
from the player himself.
Daniel Agger (7.5)
The best defender on display on the night was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884, as he helped make a number of crucial interceptions, while distributing the play brilliantly from the back. Agger coped with threats from the Fulham offense rather well and helped keep them at bay
till the very last seconds of the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 (7.0)
Johnson, started to finally look comfortable on the left hand side of the pitch, and showed that he could stay back and defend as well as go forward and help with the offence. His most notable contribution was the rocket he unleashed from twenty five yards
out, which had Stockdale diving for his life to keep it out.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 (5.5)
Worked very hard, however, he didn’t really contribute much to the game, other than intensity. As a result he was pulled off the pitch on the 66th minute mark.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Poulsen-c9114 (6.0)
Poulsen possibly produced his best performance to date in a Liverpool strip. He played an efficient game and helped out in the defence rather well, while keeping his passing simple and basic.
Raúl Meireles (7.5 – Man of the match)
Meireles was the best player on display for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652 was the most advanced midfielder on the Liverpool side and made more than just one surging run forward. He kept Fulham out in the dying minutes
of the game, by producing an off the line clearance and almost scored with a bullet header as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maxi-Rodríguez-c25005 (6.5)
Stayed rather quiet for large chunks in the game, however, he seems to have formed a rather lethal partnership with the likes of Torres and Meireles.
Steven Gerrard (6.0)
Gerrard showed that despite not having his usual sharpness and drive, he could make himself available for the ball. He tried to make things happen for the team throughout the game, but couldn’t really get the killer touch on the ball.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 (7.0)
Torres looked to be on-form and in the game from the very first minute. Had a perfectly legal goal ruled offside and caused countless problems to the Fulham backline throughout the game.
