Liverpool vs. Wolves – English Premier League – Minute by minute Report (Part 7)
With forty minutes passed, it is clearly seen that Liverpool are trying too hard to find the back of the net. However, Wolves are not backing out either.
For the past few minutes Wolves have been pushed back towards their own 18 yard box but they had their moments during the first half.
Sylvain plays the ball forward towards Stephen Ward but Pepe Reina made sure that he is at the right place. The Spaniard gets the ball and shoots it clear towards Steven Gerard.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 captain tries to make a run forward but all that he manages to do is to roll it out of play.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 wins it well in the Wolves half. The Portuguese passes it on but there is no one to attend to his through ball and Christophe Berra clears the ball towards safety.
Stephen Hunt gets the ball at his feet and shoots the ball from a long range but Pepe Reina saves and it clears the ball on the left flank where Dirk Kuyt passes the ball on towards David N’Gog.
N’Gog tries to go past George Elokobi who is on the right flank covering for Richard Stearman. N’Gog makes a run forward but he brings down Elokobi and a free kick is awarded to Wolves.
A great chance wasted by the home team. They had two great opportunities but they could not avail any of them.
Two extra minutes have been shown by the fourth official. Both the teams have not really performed extraordinarily in the first half and both the managers definitely would have a lot to say to both of them.
In that one particular minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 who was playing on Lucas’ position.
Liverpool looked to be very much out of position at times as Meireles and Steven http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 were finding it hard to get along as they kept on switching positions and failed miserable.
Fernando Torres was not adapting well with David N’Gog as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 receives the ball up front but he loses possession yet again and right when the ball is cleared by Folley, the referee blows the half time whistle as both the teams leave the pitch after a very poor performance.
