Liverpool’s Fernando Torres to be unleashed in the derby encounter with Everton (Part 1)

Earlier the favourite child of Anfield, Fernando Torres had succumbed to a groin injury in the match against Blackpool which took place earlier this week. The match was eventually lost by the Reds in a 2-1 scoreline but the more
dismissive factor of the defeat was that it had occurred at their home in front of the Kop.
The injury was inflicted early in the match and because of it El Nino was not just ruled out of the match, but it was later confirmed that he will be out of the upcoming fixtures and they included the Euro 2012 qualifiers of Spain.
In the first statement by the medical team of Torres it was unclear for how long a period the world class striker would be called out. Nevertheless it was confirmed that the player was suffering from strain is his groin muscles
which led to fear of the player rupturing his tendons but for that to be confirmed further scans and examinations would have to be conducted.
Later results confirmed that the striker would be out for around a month. However it was added that even after that period it cannot be confirmed if the player will be ready for a comeback.
Early in the FIFA 2010 World Cup, the player had suffered an injury in his thigh in the dying moments of the final. Though Euphoria was destined to Spain as they won the world title but Torres’ form was exceptionally disappointing.
Now the chief of sports science and sports medicine at Liverpool Peter Brukner has reported that Torres is making a superb recovery from his injury. He even stated that he was very optimistic that the 26 year old prized possession
of Anfield will be cleared to play in this weekend’s crucial derby side match against Everton.
As the off-field situation of Liverpool improves with the Red part of Merseyside being taken over by NESV, sadly the on-field position of the club continues to deteriorate not just because of injuries of major players (just like
last season) but also because the players are stumbling to find form and failing to lead their club out of its miseries and worries.
This weekend when Liverpool travels to the Blue part of Merseyside, they will travel in a lighter bus as most of their crucial players are out because of injuries. Both Everton and Liverpool are at dismissive positions in the English
Premier League table and therefore a win for them is crucial.
Everton are leading their long time arch rivals by just a point at the 17th position while Liverpool are at 18th place and if their poor form continues they are in for some major trouble. All this leads to
one conclusion and that is the match at Goodison Park should be epic.
If Torres makes his awaited comeback then the perfect spice will be added to the already heated and boiling broth. His inclusion in the team will definitely be very important for the Reds as the former Fulham manager Roy Hodgson
has reiterated so many times the importance of the player.
In a press release Brukner has informed on Torres’ progress saying, “Fernando is doing pretty well. He had a slight tear in one of his adductor muscles very early on in the game against Blackpool that prevented him going away with
Spain in the internationals.”
Earlier in the summers when the player was in doubt to continue his career with Liverpool it was speculated that the player might land up with Manchester City, Chelsea or Barcelona as they all were bidding between 50 to 70 million
pounds for him. Even now as the winter transfer window approaches it is said that there is still a strong chance that Torres might consider a move. Even the rivals of Liverpool, Manchester United are eager to sign the star and have put out a 40 million pound
bid for the player.
