Liverpool’s Ian Ayre looks forward to a bright future for the club – Premier League news
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre believes that the club is destined for a bright future.
His comments come near the end of a rollercoaster season for Liverpool; one which has seen them go from the lows of the relegation zone to the highs of the Premier League’s European slots.
Despite enduring their worst start to a Premier League season in more than 50 years, the Reds are somehow on track to qualify for next season’s Europa League. It is an achievement that few thought possible, especially since Liverpool were floundering in
the relegation zone at one point in the campaign. However, the team has clawed its way back to the upper levels of the League table thanks to a stellar run of form over the past few months.
Much of the credit for their sensational revival can be attributed to the arrival of new manager Kenny Dalglish. The Scot took over at the helm from the failed Roy Hodgson back in December 2010, and he has sent them skyrocketing up the League standings into
fifth place.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 managing director Ian Ayre sees the club’s strong finish to the campaign as the start of a new era for the Reds. Ayre believes that Liverpool are well on their way to bringing back their glory days.
Speaking on the matter, he said, “We're very fortunate we have a great ownership group that are very supportive and very committed to Liverpool, but we're also equally fortunate that over several years we have built up a great team within the football club.
It's nice to see lots of people who worked very hard in very difficult times are now walking with a spring in their step at every level, whether it's players or right through to the staff here in our main offices.”
He added, “We definitely see good times ahead.”
Liverpool are currently in fifth place, level on points with Tottenham Hotspur. Crucially though, the Reds have played a game more than Spurs, and they will need to defeat the London club in their upcoming Premier League match to have a realistic chance
at clinching the Europa League place.
