Carragher has been a Liverpool player, ever since he started playing football, as a result, the player just can’t come to terms with the fact that he might someday have to leave the team.
However, even if the player does end up retiring as a footballer, he is more than likely to have another role at the club.
The Reds manager, Kenny Dalglish recently went on to hint that the defender could perhaps be used as an ambassador for the club, once he does decide to hang his boots up. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 had also been offered a similar role and the player has agreed to take it up, once his contract with the team comes to an end.
Unlike Gerrard, Carragher is still looking forward to playing football as a Red for years to come and feels that he is going to think about what to do, later on in his life.
The defender, when talking about the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 that he has been offered is quoted to have said:
"If the manager has mentioned it [an ambassador role] I'm sure we will discuss it in the future”
"But that's not something I want to talk about at the minute.”
The player then emphasised on the fact that his prime focus was still on playing and that everything else would have to wait.

"I still want to concentrate on playing. I want to get as much out of my playing career as I possibly can. We will speak about something in the future. I'm the same as Steven - we love playing for the club and we just want to help in any way that we can."
Despite Carragher showing the spirit that his fans love to see from him, the player needs to realize that he isn’t the same player he used to be a couple of years ago.
It is perhaps in the player’s best interest to think about other roles at the club, or he could potentially end up leaving Liverpool altogether.
Nonetheless, the player still has a couple of more games left in him and he is more than likely to ponder over the possibilities of his future while participating in those games.
It is now a wait to see just what the player decides to do with his career and in the future.
