Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard believes he can play four more seasons – EPL News
Inspirational Liverpool skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196, believes that he can still play four more years at Anfield and has expressed his desire to win more silverware before his retirement.
The Reds inspirational skipper’s was plagued with injuries last season as he started only 22 matches for Liverpool and also missed out the last two months due to a groin injury for which he had to undergo a surgery.
Initially, the English midfielder was expected to be out of action for more than six months and was likely to miss the first half of the upcoming 2011/12 season. However, Gerrard has shown mercurial recovery from the operation and could be back in action
for Liverpool’s pre-season matches.
The Reds’ skipper acknowledged that the operation has been a success and he aims to prolong his career until he reaches 35.
“I'd like to finish my career with a few more trophies. I always look at the 35 marker. If I get there and I'm still involved with Liverpool I'll be delighted but at the moment I'm feeling as good as ever. I've had time to get my body right, get my body
strong.” Gerrard enthused.
Gerrard, one of the few one-club players left in the game, made only 24 appearances in the recently concluded season. It was his first season since his debut year at Anfield that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder has made less than 30 appearances.
Gerard’s team missed out on European football after the Reds finished sixth in the Barclays Premier League. The English midfielder now wants to win silverware and is confident that the Reds will be able to deliver at least a trophy under Kenny Dalglish in
the upcoming 2011/12 season.
Following the club’s takeover and arrival of Kenny Dalglish at Anfield, the Reds have splashed huge sums to add quality players to the current squad. After the signings of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in January transfer window, the Reds have already kicked-off

Liverpool are still being linked with a number of players as Dalglish looks to strengthen his squad to mount a stronger challenge the next season.
