Most fans will not be very hopeful of their favourite club, Liverpool, to put up a solid performance in the coming season of the English Premier League. The past two years have been highly disappointing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749’s club with probably the richest history. They have been so disappointed that their chance to qualify for UEFA Champions League will not have crossed their minds even remotely. But this time around, they have more reasons to be optimistic than being unhopeful.
Liverpool Football Club have finally found themselves with a strong team of owners and management alike. The new owners are Fenway Sports Group that also own Boston Red Sox in US. Fenway has been rated as the best in North http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 for the way they have managed their affairs with the baseball team. On the other hand, Liverpool now have ‘King’ Kenny Dalglish as their manager.
So, with a more than capable manager and a strong group of professionals to manage the affairs at the club, nothing short of success is acceptable for Dalglish.
Liverpool is the most successful English club when it comes down to European record. But, the competition at home just got tougher. The rise of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City means that there will be six teams in the English Premier League instead of the usual four. Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Tottenham and Man City for the other two spots on the table.
The Reds have a strong advantage against the latter two. They have failed to qualify for the Cup only two times in the past ten years. It is as if a Champions League berth is Liverpool’s birth right. However, between them, Man City and Tottenham Hotspur have qualified only two times in the past twenty years.
Such a strong advantage means that Liverpool have the mettle to survive through the toughest of times. Even though the results might suggest otherwise, Liverpool have a relatively stable squad which will be strengthened by the signings made this summer. The partnerships of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 Leiva and Andy Carroll with Luis Suarez imply that the foundations are still strong. Their strongest competitors have to make some critical changes.
Manchester United will be without services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the Champions League final exposed their weakness.
Goalkeeping is a serious issue at Arsenal as well. But somehow, it has been neglected by their manager Arsene Wenger. He needs to give it a deep thought to make the current vows disappear. Just like Manchester United, Arsenal’s midfield is going to grow weak as well. Cesc Fabregas has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona. Their second ace, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360, is also reported to be dissatisfied and might make a switch as well. The depleted squad will be less effective and even worse off than their already poor running in the 2010/11 campaign – unless, of course, there is some major rebuilding done. Either ways, it is good news for Liverpool. They will be content themselves with one weaker team to beat.
