Liverpool’s increased bid not enough for the £30 million Luis Suarez
Liverpool have reportedly doubled their bid, from £12.7 to £25 million, for Luis Suarez in a desperate attempt to bring the Ajax striker to Anfield. However, their improved bid of £25 million does not meet up to the £30 million demanded by Ajax, which means
the Reds could lose out on their dream signing. After the departure of Roy Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish was hoping to bring in a change and Suarez seemed to be the perfect answer.
The experienced striker will take a huge load off of Spanish striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 is not good for the
club as they suffer in their absence, the lack of depth and quality is apparent from their losses to Blackpool, Newcastle, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Birmingham City.
Franck De Boer, the Ajax coach, said he was willing to agree to the Uruguayan making a move in the January transfer window but only if the demanded price was met. He said he wanted an agreement to be reached quickly so that he had enough time to arrange
for a replacement if necessary. There are only a few days before the transfer window closes down and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 must act fast if they wish to sign the 24 year old striker.
He said while speaking to reporters, “He scores and assists, and he cannot simply be replaced. If Liverpool want something, it must be fast. Within two days, we want security; otherwise it is taking too long. By January 29 we want to know where we stand.
If Liverpool want to meet our asking price, [they should know that] we will add €5 million [£4.3 million] every day.”
A spokesperson for Ajax further added, “If you compare the €15 million [£12.9 million] Liverpool want to pay for Suarez with other transfers you can imagine that it's far too low for us. Luis is our top goal scorer for the last three years and also the man
with by far the most assists. He was one of the big guys for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035 in helping them come third in the World Cup in the summer and he still has a contract with us for two-and-a-half years.”
Boer said he would be happy to keep the striker at the club, saying it would only give him more time to find a suitable replacement. He added, “Ajax is steadfast, we know what we want. If Luis continues [until the end of the season], we have more time to
consider the right replacement.” The success of this pressure tactic by the Ajax boss will depend on Liverpool’s desperation and whether they are willing to splash that kind of cash on one player.
