Liverpool’s likely candidates for January Transfer Window – Part 1
Damien Comolli is the man with the plan for the future of Liverpool FC as he is the main man in-charge of bringing in and sorting out the players that are to be brought in during the January transfer window. He seems to have his mind made up on what to do.
NESV, which is the parent company in-charge of Liverpool, appointed Comolli as the club's Director of Football Strategy. After viewing numerous Liverpool games and having talked with Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalgish, Comolli has made a list of his potential
targets for Anfield.
He has assured both Liverpool men that if he managed to bag any one of these players on the prices as thought by him, he would make sure that NESV go for the buy and make an official bid for the player.
Two factors affect his decision and power to bring in new guns to the club. The first being that he needs to bring in as many British youngsters as possible as they need home grown players and having a good number of home bred players is always better than
the other way around.
The second factor is Roy Hodgson as coach is the actual boss and the one calling all the shots. He needs to talk over everything with Hodgson and have him on board.
To the fans' disappointment, John W Henry, the new Liverpool owner feels that Roy Hodgson is up to the managerial task for the time being. He was impressed by the club’s performance against the mighty Blues, keeping in mind that they have had a deplorable
run this season and have barely managed to make it back to a decent standing in the English Premier League table quite recently.
So, Roy obviously has a major say in the decision regarding new lads being brought into the club. Here is the list of players who might be making a move to Liverpool and thus wearing the royal Red colours of the club soon:
David Wheater:
David Wheater is a twenty three year old English footballer currently playing for Middlesborough. He is thought to be one of the crown jewels of the club who are the rising stars.
Wheater is a terrific centre back and is well adept in playing the right back position as well so he might be a crucial addition to the current Liverpool squad. He also has a positive image in the media as there has almost never been anything negative printed
about him in the tabloids.
The only personal news that this player so far made was pictures and videos of him dancing to a tune at a party that seemed hilarious.
