Livia Galilei prevalent in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Handicap at Curragh
Curragh will host the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Handicap (Fillies) over a mile and four furlongs on Sunday, 10th June. Assembled for the race is a line-up of seven three-year and older runners. The prize money set for the winner
is €13,000.
Almost every contestant has raced at Curragh but none has been able to pull out anything impressive. Livia Galilei, Galileo’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Mohican Princess, has notched up from the fourth position in her seasonal debut to a second
position in her very next try.
The Irish filly raced her seasonal debut on 22nd April in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3YO Maiden at Curragh over a mile and two furlongs. Aklan won the race while paired up with B. A. Curtis and the two led the runner up, Ebazan,
by just a short head’s difference.
The 7/2 favourite of the race, Lebron, ended eighth on the track of fifteen.
Her second try of the season was in the Irish Stallion Farms European Fund Fillies Maiden on 11th May at Cork over a mile and four furlongs. She finished second against the 100/30 favourite winner, Montebell, after striding through the 2 ¼ lengths
which she was adrift by.
Coming at terms with the third position Demurely.
Every time that the three-year-old raced, it was at a different race course and today will be the first time that she will race at a venue again.
Another note worthy entry for the race is Rising Wind, Shirocco’s four-year-old bay filly out of mare, Right Key. She has been active four times during the new season. Her first three tries were consistent with each culminating into a second position.
She penetrated into the new season on 28th March in the Spin 103.8 Handicap at Leopardstown over a mile and two furlongs and qualified as the runner up right after the 100/30 favourite winner of the race, Robin Hood.
Her most recent race made her finish fourth in line and that can prompt her to bounce back into form for the race today.
