  1. Ive seen some Red Wing games on the tv this year and I always hear that song. It must be something with that song or with Bon Jovi. Its a great song!

  2. i somehow doubt it. AC DC song was play before Devils games but i doubt AC/DC are Devils fans. Is one of those thing teams use music from pop stars to pump the crowd up.  Here is another example, back a few years ago Boys of Summer was play alot in many baseball stadiums and i dont think Ataris is fan of every major league team but i digrest.

  3. "Living on a Prayer" makes reference to the other team needing help from the big guy upstairs to compete.

  4. They always play it when the Wings are close to wrapping up a victory. The other team is "living on a prayer" to win the game. They did not play it tonight because they are "halfway there" to the Cup, that is just a coincidence, they do toward the end of all Red Wings games that are most likely to be victories.

  5. haha i noticed that too. i think it was more fitting tonight because of the lyrics "half way there".

  6. They do it in all the home games when Detroits about to win, I have all the highlights from all the playoff games (cept game 5 of the Conference Finals--I was busy moving) and they play that and its a great way to get the fans really psyched, I sing along at home too...

Bon Jovi is just awesome... if he was a Wings fan he'd be even more awesome.

  7. In the chorus it says "We're half way there". Meaning they're half way to the cup.

  8. is that the same song they play before the game is starting?

  9. moose - when the Wings get a penalty, they play "whats the dealio, dealio?"

  10. Although they are still up 2, the Wings ARE indeed living on a prayer.  Losing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs is like a vaccine for the Pens.  Now that they've got a taste, the Pens are going to fire back and probably take the series in 7.

  11. i don't know it the song means anything but it is a great song...especially in concert and the Honda Center!

  12. That song has been used since it came out by sports teams all over the globe.  Jon is from NJ so I'm guessing he might root for them..idk for certai nthough. He owns his own arena football team. He's more into football

The only songs used more is by Queen.

  13. It most likely has something to do with being "halfway there."  That's just my guess though...

  14. I think its funny that they play sweet escape by gwen stefani after some goals, no wonder detroits economy is so bad
