  1. Hi Yogs, The expenses depends upon your requirements.

If you wish to live in a place like Palace orchads, koramangala, jaya nagar and other posh areas, wish to hire a house and a maid.  Then the expenses are slightly high but compared to London, It is d**n cheap.

You can make a living by hiring a house in a posh locality and a maid servant will cost you anywhere between Rs20,000/ - to Rs30,000/-(including-food-power-maintena...

The expenses,as I said, depends upon your tastes, requirements and the location.

  2. The accomodation varies from area to area. You will get cheapest accomodation in places like Bommanahalli and Electronics City, close to the slums. You can get a 1-BHK house for Rs. 3000 [36 POUNDS] per month or so. Two people can stay in a 1-BHK house (1-Bedroom hall and kitchen). But I wouldn't recommend because such areas are dusty, with no regular power supply, etc.

Otherwise, areas like BTM Layout, HSR Layout, etc. are good. In these areas, a 1-BHK house would cost around Rs. 5000 [ 59 POUNDS ] to Rs. 6000 [ 71 POUNDS ] per month. Most people prefer these areas rather than the areas near slums. Koramangala area would be 10 to 30% more costly.

Just multiply the amount by 2 for 2-BHK houses where 4 people can stay together in 2 bedrooms.

Travelling expenses would come around Rs. 1 per kilometer[less than 0.02 POUND] if you are taking a public bus. Rs. 7 per kilometer [0.01 POUND ] if you take auto-rickshaws. Most IT industry people prefer auto-rickshaws.

Food varies as per your taste. I'll tell you how much I spend for food. It's about Rs. 90 [1 POUND] per day. I hope this information is enough for you.
