Question:

Living Homeless?

I got kicked out a couple days ago. I have no money or a job and my ID is not with me. All I have is some water, clothes, and a skateboard. Currently I am crashing at a friends house but cannot stay. She says she will provide me with whatever I need besides money (she is unemployed as well) so I need a checklist of what I will need to survive for a few weeks. I can't have anything too bulky (like a pillow), just whatever I can fit in my backpack. I also need to travel as light as possible. And I do not plan to go to a shelter ever.

  1. well try to find a job first. that is always the first thing you ever want to do when you get kicked out. and second of all i would find an abandoned house or trailer that you can stay in. thats what i would do!

  2. First step LOOK FOR A JOB (craigslist.com, monsterjob.com or try applying in the local stores in your area)

Second take life more seriously, maybe you will have to go to a shelter and don't expect for them to have space for you tho... whatever reason your parents kicked you out, try to make up to them by getting a job and maybe they will let you back in.

Where are you planning to "travel" without any money, etc... stop relying on your friends they will get tired of you using them to get food, etc... GET A JOB!

Third, this question doesn't belong here.

    Don't be a lazy bum!

    Good luck

  3. The VERY FIRST thing you should do is to go to a shelter, even though you don't want to.

But, you need to do this as it is virtually impossible to get a job without a permanent address.

Once you've landed a job, using the shelter's address, you can look for a place of your own.

  4. I hope you figure things out. Perhaps by now you've already found a solution. As for what to pack -

-A small warm blanket is a must.

-Wear your clothes in layers if you can and it will save space in your back pack.

    -toothbrush & paste

-toilet paper (very important if your not staying at a shelter)

    -snacks/food

Even if you don't want to stay at a shelter at night you may be able to access them during the day. I used to volunteer with street kids at a mobile drop in. The kids ranged from 12-24 years old. We didn't report them to social services unless they were under 12 years old. But we gave the kids all kinds of stuff: blankets, backpacks, clothing, hygiene products etc. And of course food!

It would be great if you could find a similar drop in.
