Living It Large to storm through the Investec Specialist Bank Handicap at Epsom on 25th April
The Class 3 Investec Specialist Bank Handicap will get held at Epsom over five furlongs on Wednesday, 25th April. The race has attracted a line-up of fifteen four-year and older thoroughbreds who will contest for the £9,338 purse.
One of the leading entries for the race is Living It Large, Bertolini’s five-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare, Dilag.
He raced just once at Epsom and that too during the previous season but he did translate the chance into a victory. He won the Try Totequickpick On All Totepool Bets Handicap on 21st July 2011 at Epsom over five furlongs.
Living It Large won the race in partnership with John Fahy and had Boogie Waltzer finishing as the runner up. The 11/4 favourite of the race, Ryan Style, got disqualified hence the third position was taken up by Spanish Acclaim.
After missing three races in a row, Living It large won the Coral.Co.UK Stakes (Handicap) on 8th October at York over five furlongs. Another victory was credited to the partnership of Living It Large and John Fahy.
Finishing the race the closest to the winner was Le Toreador. Concluding the race third behind the winner was Barney McGrew.
The 7/1 favourite of the race, Haajes, ended sixteenth on the line-up of twenty.
Living It Large will race his seasonal debut today and will be racing at Epsom after nearly eight months.
Another entry who has won at Epsom is Diamond Charlie, Diamond Green’s four-year-old brown gelding out of mare, Rosy Lydgate.
The four-year-old won the Download Epsom Iphone App Now Handicap over five furlongs on 21st July. While riding with Hayley Turner, Diamond Charlie led the 7/4 favourite runner up, Cocohatchee, by just half a length.
Settling third behind the winner was Volcanic Dust.
Unfortunately that was the only success that Diamond Charlie could bag at Epsom as the next race there had him failing miserably.
On 29th August, Diamond Charlie ended tenth on the track of eleven in the Try Totequickpick If You’re Feeling Lucky Handicap over five furlongs. The race was won by Your Gifted.
The 4/1 favourite, Sohraab, took up the third slot.
He has raced once during the new season and could not deliver an impressive outcome. Today he is in for the second race of 2012.
