  1. Well I do have myopia - without my contacts everything is blurred and a bit fuzzy. My daughter is slightly short sighted and prefrs not to wear her glasses. She says she likes the hard edges taken off the world, the line or bad expressions not showing on peoples faces, a bit like a soft focus camera.

Obviously if your more short sighted you can run into problems crossing roads and things.

For a hilarious take on the subject suggest you watch some clips of Mr Magoo.

  2. Well, as long as you wear your glasses or contacts, it is no different that life without myopia.

  3. Well, I didn't come up with this but it's true: impressionistic.  Colors and shapes are there, but everything is blurry.  :)

  4. I did have myopia and my lif was pretty much the same as everyone else's when my vision was corrected.  Without it, I would have been legally blind, unable even to read without sticking the book up to my nose...but, I've had LASIK and now am free of correction.

As for a creative desription, everything appeared to move in smears and shadows of great, hulking blur....

  5. I do have myopia - if i'm not wearing my glasses i can only see colours and shapes, so if i were looking at a tree - all i could see would be green ( no leaves or branches).  If i looked at a person i could see the shape of their face, and perhaps the brown of their eyes or hair, but not their noses.  I wouldnt know if they were smiling, or if they had their eyes closed.  without my glasses, the digital display on the clock is just a red dot.

this is why glasses are the first thing i put on in the morning, and the last thing i take off at night!

  6. It's not a big deal, but it would be for me if it was the year 1659.  I have a -14.25 and -16.50 so I obviously need my contacts/glasses at ALL times.  When I do not have them on I just see colors and a paper with large print has to touch my nose in order to read it.  If it wasn't for contacts or glasses I could not work, drive, or do anything productive for society.

It's 2008 we have technology to make everyone's life with myopia normal!

  7. Holy balls, being myopic isn't like being handicapped.  Things are fuzzy without glasses and that's about it.
