I'm going to study in Viterbo, Italy next semester - does anyone know what average living expenses there are? What does the average meal cost? Clothes? Day to day expenses? Thanks!

  1. Hi!

Difficult question becouse too vague, in my opinion!

Generally speaking, prices have gone up a lot in the last years in Italy, becouse of our economical crisis.

Anyway, it depends on your accommodation, and lifestyle. For example, it makes a difference to eat at home cooking by yourself, or at university canteen, or at restaurant, or buying a bread roll.

There are many supermarkets, cheap shops, and morning local markets to buy food, household articles, clothes, and everything you need spending few euros. There also are many expensive shops for designer articles. Fix your budget, and choose your shops. For example, chinese shops are the cheaper for clothes. But I don't trust them for food or body soaps. Supermarkets are better in this case. Healthy cheaper food is in supermarkets or morning local markets.

The town is small, so you can go around the center by foot and the suburbs by public transport. A used bicycle can be the best solution. I can't help you about entertainments.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this pretty town! Have a good time in Viterbo!
