¿Theres violence in Australia?

¿This is drug trafficking?

¿Is there racism to Latin people?... Mexicans specially

¿What is the cost of a small house or apartment?

I search this one in the web and found some but... ¿Where its a good place to live?

¿Any street you recomend me?

¿What kind of stores you have there?

I mean, as Wal-Mart ... Liverpool .... This type.

¿Are vegetables expensive?

This one sounds sort of weird, but i'm vegetarian...

You know that I am living there about 4 or 5 years.

In addition to the web browser information, i want real answers of someone who lives there. =)

  1. ¿Theres violence in Australia?   Comparatively?  No.  Usually limited to drunken bar brawls.

¿This is drug trafficking?  Well yeah, but it's not rife.

¿Is there racism to Latin people?... Mexicans specially? No - we love the accent!

¿What is the cost of a small house or apartment? $200-$400/week

I search this one in the web and found some but... ¿Where its a good place to live?  If studying, then the bigger cities:  Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide

¿Any street you recomend me?  There's a LOT of streets

¿What kind of stores you have there?

I mean, as Wal-Mart ... Liverpool .... This type. Coles, Woolworths, IGAs - lots of dept stores, not as prolific and huge as the States though.  You can buy anything at all in Australia - it has a huge range of nationalities living here and they all have something to offer.  Especially in the big cities - if you want to buy some rare Mexican chilli or something you'll find it!

    ¿Are vegetables expensive?  No.

This one sounds sort of weird, but i'm vegetarian...

At least here are very expensive, but you know if i am moving i might live alone, and i need to take careof my budget =D  Lots of vegetarian Aussies - no problemo at all!!  It's not expensive to be vege.

  2. What city are you planing on moving too, as this will give us some idea and be able to answer you correctly.

  3. There is violence, just like every other country.. But its not like America.. Our violence isnt that bad, its controlled really well

There is drug trafficing, just like every other country.

We dont have much racism, so dont worry. Its only a few racist idiots that ruin it for us all.

Cost of an appartment depends on where you want to live.

What city do you want to live in?

No, i cant recommend a street for you.

No, we dont have walmart... But we have kmart.

Only buy vegetables when they're in season, they wont be too expensive that way.. Vegetables are really not that expensive, depends on what you buy.

    Good luck

  4. 1.no

7.Kmart, Target & Big W is like wal-mart Myers & David jones are prestigious departstores and coles & woolworths are food shops

    8.Veggies are cheap

  5. I never see violence but I read reports in the newspapers of crimes. Australia is a safe country, but one wouldn't put themselves in a stupid situation.

Yes there is drug trafficking but the police are working on it all the time. It is not tolerated. The police have been very good at catching these people.

We are not a racist country. We are multi cultural but there is always some idiot out there that will make a stupid remark.House prices vary depending where you live in the big cities you may pick up a one bedroom apartment for $300,000 if your lucky

We have many stores K mart ,Target, Big W  larger department stores Myers, David Jones. Many supermarkets

Vegetables can be cheap. We have fruit and Vegetable markets. Seasonal fruit and vegetables are best At the moment Tomatoes I've just paid $3 a kilo Carrotts $1 a kilo Potatoes over $2 Many vegetarians live here you will be well catered for

  6. You'll be made very welcome if you come here to study and you won't be alone as an international student. Many thousands of students come here to study from all around the world every year and all of the ones I've met have very much enjoyed the experience. Now for your questions:

We have violence in Australia but on nothing like the scale found in American cities and many other places. Australia has very strict gun control laws and, even in our largest cities, violence doesn't normally affect ordinary people.

We have drug traffickers like every other country but our government and police work very hard to keep the problem under control. We don't have a crack problem.

Australia is a very multicultural, friendly and accepting country and there is very little racism of any kind. Most Australians have never even met a Mexican and will be far more likely to be interested in you and your culture than prejudiced against you. You have absolutely nothing to worry about on that score.

House and apartment costs vary a great deal from city to city, Sydney is by far our most expensive city and it is difficult to find anything reasonably close to the city for under about 600k. In Melbourne, the same place would be more like 500k (or a bit less) and in Brisbane 450k though prices are rising rapidly in both places. Adelaide is cheaper again. The prices I've given are massive generalizations though and you should go to our real estate sites for a better idea.

A good place to live depends on the type of climate and lifestyle you prefer. Sydney is large, busy and expensive and has great nightlife, a fairly good climate and beautiful beaches and location.

Melbourne is large and not as frenetic as Sydney, is less expensive to live in, has better shopping, great nightlife and dining out, a dreadful climate by our standards (but still good compared to most North American cities) and it's a lovely city.

Brisbane is smaller than the other two but still a substantial size, is more laid back, less expensive, good nightlife and dining out, the best climate in Australia (winters much warmer than further south), no beaches to speak of, but is only an hour away from some of the best beaches in the world on our Sunshine and Gold Coasts which are major tourist areas.

Adelaide is a nice smaller city, but IMO lacks something indescribable that you find in the east coast cities. Cheapest living of all of our capitals, good dining out, reasonable nightlife, decent beaches and very close to the Barossa Valley which is a wine and food lover's paradise.

Perth is a lovely city but is very isolated over on the west coast of this very large country.

We don't have anything as large (or as cheap) as Wal-Mart and I've never heard of Liverpool, but we have large stores and supermarkets where shopping can be done on a limited budget.

Vegetables are plentiful and cheap, particularly if you shop at the produce markets.

If you can tell us what city you're heading for, we'll be able to be more specific in answering.
