How do the people in Donegal County manage to survive the high costs of living there?

How much money do they earn in salaries?

Are the young people graduating from college with a BA Degree?

My friend may be moving there.

  1. It's County Donegal, not Donegal County.

It's a very rural part of the world, mostly. And as far as I know, there aren't any major colleges in County Donegal, the nearest third-level educational institution is either the IT in Sligo, or the colleges in Northern Ireland, which is officially part of the United Kingdom, and not part of Ireland, so there would be a slightly different set of requirements.

Most Irish do at least some third level college course these days, and it usually involves moving away from the family home for a time. But it's also state-subsidised, which makes it a lot more affordable.

  2. It is very cheap compared to the cost of living in Dublin. I love it there.

  3. Donegal is a county of the Republic of Ireland. I suppose they manage to survive the cost of living the same way that most Irishmen do; by working. Tourism is for example a large industry there. The average salary should not differ much from that of the rest of Ireland. Although, salaries in Dublin would probobly be slightly higher as it is in most larger cities. Whether you graduate with a BA degree or not depends on what kind of educational programme you've chosen or if you already have a degree.
