Living in Downtown Nashville?

Question

Currently I'm living in Illinois. But in a couple years or so, I will be moving to Tennessee. I've been there many times before, and fell in love with downtown Nashville. I want to start off with a condo downtown. What's it like living down there? Any info would be great! And also, where are some good places to meet people. Since I will be living there I'd want to make some friends.

Downtown Nashville is not the best of places to live, I suggest living about 15-20 minutes outside of downtown for the best quality of living.

Living in downtown Nashvegas is crazy. #1 you have to know someone who knows someone, who knows someone to just be considered to rent someplace decent that won't be condemned in 2 months. Unless you are one of the lucky millionaires who can find a decent place. Why not live in Brentwood, this is where all the famous people live Peter Frampton , Brett Michaels Musicians out the wazoo etc. There is nothing but wall to wall problems with living downtown. It isn't like Chicago where people can try to live stress-free. I am downtown at least 2 times week and I am happy each minute that goes by that I don't live there.
