Living in Far Rockaway, NY?

Hi,

Could you please give me your opinion of living in Far Rockaway, NY (Queens). I am probably going to buy a house there and move next month but I wanted some opinions. The A train stop is beach 25. The home is on Brookhaven Ave. The street seems quite and calm even at night but insiders always have the better views and opinions!

Any thing major I should know about? (good or bad!)

Also, where are the best grocery stores and places to eat or get delivery from in the area?

My mother used to live in Far Rockaway years and years ago. B52 I think. I loved it. The beach was OK then. I am not sure about the grocery stores as I was to young and my mother drove us everywhere. I would recommend you go to the area in the day time as well as at night on a weekday as well as a weekend. You don't want to make the mistake of buying a house in NYC and then finding out its a bad area. Good Luck!
