Living in Manhattan?

I've spent a lot of time in New York City and have always given thought to living in Manhattan. A job opportunity has come along that will let me do just that. Is it as much fun living there as spending time there? I live in a fairly large city now so I know there are some hassles. What would you say are the best and worst things about Manhattan? For those of you who have lived there a long time, do you plan to stay or would you leave if you could?

Its going to be very very expensive to live there rent wise. Food prices are high also. It's a great place to live/stay. I would definitely recommend you at least try it out. New York is the greatest city in the world so why wouldn't you want to try it out. Stay our of North Manhattan though. Stay Upper West/East and lower.

lived there 10 years and loved it. moved because of family reasons.

can't compare it to any other place. best thing is that you can find the best of everything in ny, worst is it is super competitive and can get tiring at times.

i think u definitely need to give it a shot and live here for a while.
