Living in Nowra?

Question

We are considering moving to Nowra and have heard about the unemployment, high welfare and crime and violence. However we have also heard some great things about the place. Could anyone who has lived there or experienced Nowra please give their thoughts.

Nowra is probably the worst town on the South Coast.  Try Kiama or Milton or Ulladulla.  Nowra is also a bit inland - the other places I mentioned are on the coast.

Its like most places, theres good parts of town and bad parts of town.

Like most of the south coast of NSW unemployment is a problem, but depending on your expertise you could find a job quite easily.

it is boring, slow, and yes crime (higher is some parts tho), nice beaches we are you living now I will compare it for you

Meh, i dont know.

But I have relatives living there.. I dont know much about the place. But the times I'm there, it seems quiet. and boring. I dont know about the crime rate, unemployment etc... Apparently people have to go to Sydney or somewhere else to work, because its harder to find work in Nowra...... I dont know if thats true though.
