since i have been addicted to paris for my whole life i really want to noe wuts itlike 2 live there, i did learn french but it was awful, i noe french is an expensive place like 1 dollar here is like 50 cents there, so im concerned, i just wanna ask...on a daily basis, buying food at markets and shopping at not so cheap but yet affordable prices on a daily basis (let's say topshop or urban outffiters types of shops?) & going out to eat once in a while...and living in a 1 room apartment, around how much would it cost? also, what kind of succesful jobs are at paris, im not saying over ten thousands of dollars, but over 3500 (canadian) dollars.

also, is it true that parisians or the french don't like asians/canadians, i hear unless ur a true parisian they are only polite & nice to you?

like i love paris but if i do go there and i expect a lot of 'unexpected' situations, i wouldn't wanna go there again. & i oh so do love france! the food, culture, fashion, views, everything!

  1. As for the rudeness question, everyone I met from Canada in Europe said that, by and large, they were treated better when people knew they were NOT Americans.  I even met an American who sewed a Canadian Flag to his backpack, so people would assume he was Canadian...worked, I guess.

  2. Accomodation          500€

    Charges-fees etc       50 €

    Food - home made  300 €

    Public transports        50 €

    Fun ?                           60 €

    Laundry                        60€

Clothes are not peculiar to France or not - Your flight is a yearly expense not monthly

What else ? probably all those small things which make mountains -

Concerning salaries 3500 can$ is a sum many french will never earn

Before asking so general questions about parisians, ask about yourself  - just a personal advice : be who you are, but don't wait people to make the first step - be the one who does it, and surprises will be often nice -

Just remember - if you're smart and cool, you'll be smart and cool everywhere in the world

  3. You can live a decent if modest life for something around 2000 euros a month.

Your difficulty is that as a Canadian you have no right to live and work in France and permission to do so is not likely to be forthcoming unless you have specialized job skills.

I take it from your question that you are a Canadian of Asian descent. I am an American of Asian descent and I have never experienced any serious problens with the French during several decades of regular visits there.
