  1. You can spend anthing from £200,000 - £millions

It really does vary in some ways I don't understand. In Mayfair you are looking at the millions and then the further out you go it tends to get cheaper. You can be a fair few miles out but with great tube links you will be in central London.

The tap water in London isn't as good as the northern parts of UK but it's drinkable. I have never been to either of these countries but I am sure in some areas the tap water is very similar and in others it is the complete opposite.

London is the most expensive in the world according to one newspaper not so long ago. It is nothing like anything other city in the UK, but I the housing in New York is similar to London's, pricewise.

For property go to http://www.rightmove.co.uk/. I go on the underground map and choose a central station such as oxford circus, put the distance upto 5miles then change the other stats to my needs. That way you find many different properties all over the capital and if you keep on looking you will find a right gem.

    Hope This Helps

  2. 1 - quite a lot in the centre of London.  For a one bedroom apartment probably £1000 or more...  there are places that go for ten times that amt per a week.  If you want to bring your costs down, you could always consider flatshare.

2 - It depends where in the USA you mean... most of the water in London comes from underground, but is still quite clear & fresh, definitely safe for drinking and on par with most other developed cities.

3 - Hong Kong comes to mind, also Sydney, Paris, Rome... all expensive in the city, but all get cheaper the further into the suburbs you go.

    Good luck!

  3. 1. Very expensive. It can be around $600/week or more. That's at least 300 pounds sterling a week. (See Craigslist link. Most of the prices are per week.)

    2. Yes. They have great water in England and it is superior to most other European countries. It's quite hard though, so you might need to use conditioner when you don't normally.

    3. Manhattan, San Francisco, Tokyo. London is considered one of the top three most expensive cities in the world to live in.

  4. central london apartments are very expensive! the cheapest maybe at about £800 - £1000 but the furthur out into the suburbs you get the cheaper the cost of housing is

the tap water is fine to drink, the same as most other developed countries like the usa

and places like paris and tokyo - expensive cities, london is probably one of the most expensive cities in the world :)
