Living in the Dominican Republic! is it really a paradise ?

Im thinking of moving from europe but am a little nervous concerning security, everyone tells me opposites, whats the truth and where should one live on the island?

  1. I lived there 1 1/2 years. Santiago and San Francisco de Macoris. It was filthy, no electric most of the time and no water most of the time. You need bars on the windows on the fourth floor and bars on the door. I never met an honest Dominican.

  4. ok i 'll tell u a little secret if u have money in dominican republic u have a wonderful rich life if u don't and your broke it is a nice place to live but only if you have family there.
