Hey im a liberal pakistani muslim living in america, currently in my senior year of high school. I plan on becoming a psychiatrist after medical school... yeah but i was wondering, where would be a better place for me, turkey, or japan?

Here are some things that might help

1)Im a non-religious secular muslim

2)I like the city life

3)I like to go shopping and go out at night

4)I am willing to marry a girl of any race, if shes the right one for me

5)My parents are well-off, and could afford a decent university in turkey....don't know about japan...although im probably gonna go to college here

6)I am willing to learn turkish or japanese, considering i usually do not have trouble with learning languages

  1. I personally like Japan Better. But the major religion of Japan is Shintoism and Buddhism, There are very few Muslims in japan, and not really many religions even simmilar to muslim, so Turkey is probably closer in that respect. But If you are non-religious you should be fine in Japan. I think Japan would be more fun, but things generally cost more (or so I've heard) and for latin-based speakers learning a calligriphy based langiage is usually harder than another latin-based language. I don't know what they speak in turkey. But U think Japanese is fun to learn.

  2. Well, Japan is far more western, and has more of 2, and 3. It does have expensive college though

Turkey has cheaper universities, and an easier language for english speakers to learn. A draw back, is mandatory military service (if you don't like that)

you can be fine as #1 in either, and #5 should be fine in both countries.

  3. Japan is very exciting to live in but I think it would be hard for you to study medicine in Japan as it would take over 10 years in Japan and you would definatelly need to know how to speak Japanese fluently. Medicine is the most hardest thing to study. In order to study medicine in Japan, you must:

Get one of the top place getters for the graduation exam in Japan

Select a suitable university and pass the tests

Complete 4 years at that university

Do another test for medicine school

Attend another 4 years of medicine school

Another test for a different medicine school

2 Years at that medicine school - in preperation for becoming a doctor

    Final test

Other then that, Japan is a beautiful, amazing place and I'm sure you will love the place. Japan is rich in history, culture, etc..

Japanese is a lot harder to learn, in comparison to english, turkish, etc.. It would help if you know some Chinese characters.

Although a medical school in Turkey will be also hard to get into, I think it would be easier - in comparison to Japan. But, if you are willing to learn Japanese - I suggest you pick Japan.

    Viel Gluck!

    Ganbate!

    Good Luck

  4. I vote for Turkey I think you can fit in easily and it is far more realistic for you to study and live in for a long time; most Turks are Muslims and your physical appearances are much closer.

Also your career dream is very difficult to achieve especially in a foreign country, I think you should pick Turkey.

  5. Turkey. they more open and Japan is too expensive.

  6. Turkey. They have lower standards.

  7. Turkey. You wouldn't last in Japan.
